Biography
Pegah started piano lessons at the age of 9 in Isfahan, Iran. Then she continued her piano studies with Dr. Mehran Rouhani and Gagig Babaian in Tehran. At the same time she studied music theory, harmony, counterpoint, form and analysis of music, also history of western classical music. In 1998, she moved to Moscow, Russia and enrolled in The Gnessins State Musical College. She graduated as a pianist, piano teacher and orchestral musician in 2003. She performed extremely in Moscow and Iran as a soloist as well as other instruments. On January 5th 2006, she performed on a concert specified to Baroque music with soprano, Haykanush Ghalachyan and alto, Hrays Savzyan.
She has participated in courses and master classes like attending North London Piano School in summer 2007, where she took the master classes with Irina Osipova, Christopher Elton, William Fong, Ruth Harth and other professors from the UK and Russia.
Teaching is a great part of Pegah’s musical activity and she has years of experience tutoring both advanced and beginner students. She started to teach piano when she was just 16.
On returning to Iran after finishing her studies in Moscow, She taught piano (major subject) in Tehran Conservatory of Music to intermediate and advanced students from 2003 to 2007.Also she worked as an accompanist in The State National School of Music where she played with other instruments particularly strings.
From 2007, she has been teaching piano privately in London to students in different levels. She is currently doing her Master degree in piano performance at The London College of music with Dr. Michael Schreider.
