Biography
Pianist Olga Jegunova was born in 1984. She studied in Paul Jurjans' School of Music by Ella Strazdina and in Emils Darzins School of Music by prof. Ilze Graubina and Sergejs Osokins. Olga Jegunova has got a bachelor grade in Jazeps Vitols Latvian Music academy (State Cultur Capital Foundation scholar) in Riga by prof. Sergejs Osokins and Master Dipoma in Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg (A.Toepfer Stiftung and DOM-Stiftung scholar), where her piano teacher was prof. Volker Banfield. Now Olga Jegunova studies in Royal College of Music (RCM, Latvian Welfare Trust, Henry Wood Trust and Yehuni Menuhin LMN Hamburg scholar) on the „Artist Diploma in Performance” programme with prof. Dmitri Alexeev.
Olga took additional master-classes of these renowned pianists: Prof. Vera Gornostayeva, Prof. Igor Zhukov, Prof. Lazar Berman, Prof. Norma Fisher, Prof. Paulas Geniusas, Prof. Ian Fountain, prof. Elisso Virsaladze, prof. Eugene Pridonoff und Prof. Elena Richter.
Olga Jegunova took prizes at various competitions of national and international scale: competition for children „Talants Latvijai” in Riga (1996) – 1 prize, International Ginette Goubert piano competition in Paris (1997) – 1st prize, International Marys Cheilan piano competition in France (1998) – 2nd prize, International Stasys Vainiunas piano competition in Vilinius (2001) – 4th prize, International Animato competition in Zurich (2008) – 2nd prize, STEINWAY – FÖRDERPREIS in Hamburg (2008) – 1st prize, Concours Geza Anda in Zurich (2009) - semi-finalist, diploma holder.
Olga Jegunova also played at Liepaja Star Festival (1997), Young Musician Festival in Moscow (2002), J.S.Bach Festival in Riga (2003), Junior Artist Festivals held by V.Spivakov Foundation in Riga and Moscow (2006) and Beethoven Festival "Kasseler-Musiktage" (2008).
Olga Jeguova is a frequent solo-performer, member of various chamber ensembles and a soloist collaborating with such eminent conductors as Normunds Vaicis (Orchestra of Emila Darzina School of Music), Saulius Sondeckis (Lithuanian chamber musicians), Andris Vecumnieks (Sinfonia Concertante orchestra as well as the Orchestra of the Latvian Music academy), Alexander Soddy (Landesjugendorchester Hamburg) and Muhai Tang (Zürcher Kammerorchester)
