Biography
Ezra Williams attended the Purcell School of Music where he trained with Kathleen Livingstone (soprano) and Kathleen Ferguson (mezzo) before progressing to the Royal College of Music. At the RCM he won the Herbert Howells Prize in 1998 and participated in masterclasses with Sir Thomas Allen, Robert Tear, Philip Langridge, Sherill Milnes, Sir Peter Maxwell Davis and Magnus Lindburg. He has toured extensively throughout the UK, has sung with Holland Park Opera and English Touring Opera and performed on TV with Jose Carreras and on stage with Alfie Boe, Joanne Lunn, James Rutherford and other 'bright young things'.
As a pianist and accompanist he has given many recitals in theatres and concert halls and played for Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace while at the Purcell School. Although he no longer composes, his chamber and orchestral music has been played at the South Bank Centre (Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room), the Park Lane Series and many more venues as well as being broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
Finally, Ezra is a published author and has also appeared in a number of films - in a forthcoming project that begins filming soon he plays an opera-singing telepathic alien assassin! Over the last couple of years he has had to retrain after battling cancer and now has a slightly different (and slightly higher) sound.
