Biography
My name is Eleni Koki and I come from Cyprus. I am studying the piano with Mr. Niel Immelman at the Royal College of Music in London, in the Masters Programme in Piano Performance. I started taking piano lessons in Cyprus at the Pancyprion Odeon with Mrs. Olga Mavronicola and with her guidance I performed for the first Piano Degree with "Distinction with honours". After taking the Diploma ABRSM in Piano Performing with Distinction in 2000, I was chosen to perform in the concert given for the "Cyprus Jubilee Celebrations" by the ABRSM in December 2000 and also the same year I won the Hedy King Robinson Prize for Theory of Music. Moreover, I won the third prize in the First Piano Competition of EPTA Cyprus in November 2001.
After graduating Lyceum with a mark 19 10/12 in 2002, I was accepted in the Athens Kapodistrian University to study Primary Education, from where I graduated with "Excellent" in 2006. Being in Athens for my degree in Paedagogics, I continued my studies in piano with Mrs. Natalia Michaelidou in "Nikos Skalcottas" Conservatory, where I performed for the Piano Degree with "Excellent with honours". Furthermore, I entered the Athens Department of Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, where I had the opportunity of intensive piano studies and performances.
In August 2000 and 2001 I participated in the Second and Third Oxford Philomusica International Piano Festival, where I took part in seminars given by Rosalyn Tureck, Oxana Yablonskaya, Malcolm Troup. I also had master-classes with Marios Papadopoulos, Niel Immelman, Nina Kazimirova, David Lively, Jean-Claude Pennetier and Bernard Ringeissen.
I have given piano concerts in Cyprus and in Greece both as a soloist and as an accompanist and also I have been giving piano lessons in small children for the last two years.
