Biography
A choral scholar and music graduate from Selwyn College, Cambridge University, Cindy began playing the piano at the age of three and at age 12, scored a high distinction (142 out of 150) in her Grade 8 piano exam.
On her 13th birthday, she was awarded the John Coates Scholarship to continue her musical studies at the Purcell School of Music, London, where she studied the piano with the Head of Keyboard, Mrs. Roshan Magub. In her senior year at Purcell and during her years at Cambridge, Cindy continued to study the piano with Patsy Toh, a professor of piano at the Royal Academy of Music.
As a pianist and singer, Cindy’s numerous audiences include HRH Prince Charles, the Prime Minister of Malta, and dignitaries in Malaysia. She has performed at the Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Royal Festival Hall, Purcell Room, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Worcester Cathedral, Petronas Philharmonic Hall (located in the Twin Towers, Malaysia) and the Malaysian National Theatre.
As an orchestral tour manager in the early noughties, Cindy toured with Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow Radio, Leipzig Gewandhaus, London Philharmonic Orchestra and artists such as Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Charles Dutoit and Kurt Masur among many others.
Cindy is a regular performer in the Ezra Williams Presents... concert series. Her chamber work partnerships include her duo with Ezra Williams (tenor) and Helena Ruinard (violinist).
