Biography
Christopher trained as a piano teacher and musicologist. His experience includes lecturing and supervising music education students at Cape Town University (preparing students for teaching and performing diplomas) and running courses in piano repertoire. He has performed lecture-recitals on Schumann's Kinderscenen and Bach's Two Part Inventions, and initiated an annual Mozart Piano Concerto Day (for pianists to play movements of various concertos with small orchestra). Christopher has also been involved in choral and church music, directing musical shows including those of the Gilbert and Sullivan Society. He is an occasional piano and organ recitalist.
Christopher can offer comprehensive teaching facilities on two grand pianos at his base in the Victorian town of Aldershot (please note he is unable to travel to give lessons). Performance groups are also available for those interested. Aldershot is approximately 35 miles south west of London and an hours train journey from London Waterloo station.
